Meet Chayan
Chayan Sukanya
Founder & Packaging Sustainability Consultant
Circular Pack Asia
Chayan Sukanya is a packaging sustainability professional with 25+ years of experience across R&D, quality, procurement, and sustainability leadership. He helps converters and brand owners navigate EPR, Design for Recycling (DfR), and packaging regulations in Asia—turning complex requirements into practical, workable solutions.
What He Stands For
Chayan believes that recyclability must work in real systems—not just on paper. Packaging should only be called recyclable when it can be collected, sorted, processed, and converted into usable recyclate within existing or realistically deployable recycling systems. This evidence-based approach helps businesses avoid greenwashing risks and costly redesigns.
Background
Before founding Circular Pack Asia, Chayan was Regional Product Sustainability Senior Manager at Huhtamaki (SEAO), leading recyclable packaging strategies for flexible packaging and supporting the shift toward mono-material solutions. He has also held senior roles in R&D, Quality, and Supplier Development, giving him a strong end-to-end view of packaging systems.
Industry & Policy Engagement
Chayan actively contributes to EPR and packaging sustainability discussions in Thailand and Southeast Asia, working with industry associations, recyclers, and regulators to ensure policies are technically achievable and system-aligned.
Why Circular Pack Asia
Circular Pack Asia provides independent, Asia-relevant sustainability advisory—free from material bias. Chayan supports organizations preparing for EPR compliance, recyclability validation, and sustainable packaging strategy with clear, credible guidance.
